It is believed that the Authentic Band represents an open Bible laid on it's back and shows similarities with the Sign of Amsterdam. The three xxx stand for the biggest threats to mankind during the 15th and 16th century: Water, Fire and the Plague. Wearing these wooden shoes with band, would protect you from these serious threats.
