Zaans Birdhouse - Bell Gable

Traditional House from the Zaan area with Bell Gable to be used as birdhouse. The beautiful birdhouse is perfect for many small garden birds such as the Pied Flycatcher, the Collared Redstart, the Great Tit and Chickadee, because of its 30 mm entrance opening. The birdhouse is packed in a cheerful gift box. Nice to give away as a Dutch souvenir.

Tips for placing a birdhouse:

• Hang the birdhouse in a quiet place.
• In a sheltered place from the wind and rain.
• Place the birdhouse not in full sun.
• Preferably facing northeast
• Make sure there is a direct flight path to the entrance of the birdhouse.
• Try to space birdhouses at least 3 meters apart.
• Make sure the birdhouse is securely fastened and is resistant to wobbling.

When is the best time to put up a birdhouse?

Preferably hang the birdhouse in the autumn or winter. Birds can get used to the birdhouse and use it as a shelter for the winter. Birds like to hide in birdhouses on cold nights and if they like it there, there is a good chance that they will breed in it. Make sure the birdhouses are cleaned well in early spring, before the breeding season starts.

Note: Birdhouses are made of MDF. Spray the birdhouse with clear coat before using it.
