Holland Windmills
Windmills were built in Holland from the 15th century. Initially these windmills where used for the Dutch water management to keep the lower parts of Holland (the polders) dry.
Later windmills were also used to ground the flour for daily bread, to saw tree-trunks into boards, to make paper and paint, ground spices like mustard and many other tasks. Many windmills are still in use today.
