Delft Blue tile of the old Dutch profession/craft The Cooper (De Kuiper) by Jan Luyken. A cooper is a person trained to make wooden casks, barrels, vats, buckets, tubs, troughs and other similar containers from timber.

The image The Cooper on this tile comes from an engraving / etching made in the 17th century by the Dutch poet, painter and etcher Jan Luyken (Johannes Luiken). In the book "Het Menselyk Bedryf" (1694), Jan Luyken describes and shows with the help of prints the various crafts during the Golden Age in Amsterdam.
